Verify an Image, AI image fact-check & deepfake detection

Upload any photo to check whether it was generated by AI, digitally manipulated, or being reused out of its original context. The Verify-an-Image tool combines statistical AI-generation detection, forensic pixel analysis, reverse image search, and fact-checking of any text or claim visible in the image.

AI-generation detection uses statistical analysis of pixel-level artifacts to flag images produced by Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, DALL·E, and other generative models. Forensic signals include compression fingerprints, splice detection, and lighting inconsistencies. Reverse search cross-references the image against the public web using Google Vision Web Detection and, where available, landmark recognition to pin down the earliest known appearance and any prior context.

If the image contains text, a screenshot of a tweet, a headline, a poster, a receipt, the extracted claim is automatically routed through the standard VerumVerify fact-check engine so you receive both an authenticity assessment of the image itself and a verdict on the claim it depicts.

The public /verify-image page describes what the tool does and who it is for. The tool itself lives inside the authenticated dashboard so results can be saved to your journal, exported as PDF, and (optionally) added to the public feed.
